THW Trixie and Carolee

Earlier this year I bought two 28mm scale survivors from the Two Hour Wargaming webstore - Trixie and Carolee. Previously, Carolee was available as a 40mm scale figure and a 15mm scale figure, neither of which were any good to me, as I only collect 28mm scale figures.
Trixie is the young woman with the green jacket and the massive pistol. Now that's what you call a Big Ass Pistol! She is also armed with a hand grenade. Trixie has purple hair styled in a Mickey Mouse shape. She is more of a sci-fi figure than a contemporary figure, making her useful in the likes of THW's 5150: New Beginnings or the new Judge Dredd Miniatures game. However, she could still be used as a survivor in a game like ATZ-FFO. She is very slim and is nicely sculpted with the look of an Anime heroine about her.
Carolee is THW's iconic pin-up girl for ATZ and a fan favourite. She is armed with a Big Ass Pistol (although it looks more like a Mini Uzi Machine Pistol to me) and a katana.
To the left of here is the Carolee stat card from the Risks and Rewards deck. She can be recruited by the player's group and she would make an excellent addition. I can see from her card that I am going to have to add a scopesight to her BAP. She's a real beauty, isn't she?
I checked on the THW website to see if these two figures were still available but sadly, I see no sign of them. They have been withdrawn from sale, which is a real shame. However I did ask Ed if he could add Carolee to his current Kickstarter range of 28mm scale contemporary horror figures. He seemed very favourable to the idea and you can read his response here - http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1377449800/all-things-horror-28mm-metal-miniatures/comments
Hopefully Carolee and Trixie will become available for sale once again. They are too good to be consigned to the scrapheap.

  1. Nicely done Bryan. I really like Trixie its a great name and I really quite like the miniature to. Carolee is ace. I was going to suggest perhaps they are going to do an updated version. But reading that thread it doesn't seem to be.

    1. They are both currently out of production but hopefully we will see them go on sale again. I'm glad I bought mine when I did.

  2. Hmm. Pistol as big as her body, grenade nearly the size of her head and Mickey Mouse-styled hair. I think that qualifies as "whacko"!

I can't work out what is hanging down from Carolee's gun. Is it a coil of rope? A whip?

    1. Hi Hugh. The bit that is hanging from Carolee's gun is a shoulder strap. It's not something you'd expect to see on a gun so small.

  3. Very nice Bryan. I don't think Carolee is wearing the clothes I would chose in a zombie apocalypse. Maybe I'm too conservative!

    1. I don't want to think about you wearing the clothes that Carolee has chosen, Clint! LOL!
I personally see nothing wrong with Carolee's choice of clothing. If you've got it, flaunt it is my motto.

    1. I've always loved purple hair ever since I saw Gabrielle Drake as Lieutenant Gay Ellis in Gerry Anderson's UFO. Deep sigh!

    1. That's all well and good, Fran, but what would She Who Must Be Obeyed have to say about her? By the way, I assume you're talking about Carolee.

    1. Hi, David, Yes, THW did make a 15mm scale version of Carolee. Whether she is still available for sale, I;m not sure about. I suspect she's been withdrawn along with the 40mm and 28mm scale versions.

  10. I'm not a big fan of the over-sized weapon fad, but Trixie would go well in any Sci-Fi setting and
Carolee's stance seems a bit odd to me.
They're still a great pair of figures and you've done your usual high standard of paint-job on them.

    1. Many thanks, Joe. Having just bought the Judge Dredd Miniatures rulebook, I know that Trixie would feel right at home in Mega City One.
